Roi Lam
Roi Lam was appointed Vice President – Drilling for Chesapeake Energy in September 2019. He previously served as Drilling Manager in several other operating areas including the Power River Basin, Marcellus and Eagle Ford shales from 2011 to 2019.
Before joining Chesapeake, Mr. Lam was the Drilling Group Lead for the Barnett and Sabine business units at Encana Oil and Gas from 2008 to 2011. Prior to Encana Oil and Gas, he was a Senior Drilling Engineer in the San Joaquin, Central Coastal and Ventura operating areas for Occidental Petroleum from 2006 to 2008. Mr. Lam began his career as a field engineer with Schlumberger in 1995, where he cross trained between the Dowell and Anadrill product lines. During his tenure at Schlumberger, Mr. Lam held several leadership and technical positions around the world. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1995 and a Master’s degree in Business from Southern Methodist University in 2016.
